Q & A Friday: Why Am I Afraid of Living My Mission?

Nat,

I am curious about one thing. The 5 life path loves to travel, but I am afraid of flying. I do want to travel!!! But it freaks me out SO much.

Any advice???

~ Claudia

Claudia,

That which we fear, is that which we have covered to discover. (You can quote me on that one!)

Fear is a feeling that directs us to the areas of our lives that need to be developed and mastered.

Example: I was s@#! scared as a child of flying (ESPECIALLY after seeing the movie ‘Alive’!).

Yet there was this yearning to master it.

At 10 I started taking flying lessons and passed ground school to become a fighter pilot.

I wanted to be strong because I felt so weak.

I was scared every time I went up, but I was really good at it.

This may seem hard to understand at first – but think of it this way:

The most talented performers have had almost unbearable immense stage fright (Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston).

The most successful billionaires have lost everything and been poor (Andrew Carnegie, Martha Stewart, Donald Trump).

The most fashionable designers have felt like unattractive outsiders, and worn the most ugly concoctions known to man.

It is all part of the territory; the territory of living your dreams; a work-in-progress full of trial and error with emotion.

If you do not experience any discomfort, you probably are not pushing hard enough.

Claudia, the 5 Life Path little girl inside you probably got her fair share of fear from her well-meaning family.

For 5′s born into a family of structure and rigidity, their freedom oriented nature is misunderstood.

You may have heard that you always have to be careful; that the world can be a scary place.

What did your parents say to you about the world? What beliefs have you acquired about expanding out and traveling?

These are blockages for letting your freedom-fighter within expand out.

Suggested NEW Belief: As I experience freedom, fun and adventure I feel more safe in the sensation of LIVING. The more that I make the world as a whole my home, the more I am connected to an endless source of wisdom and safety.

  2. Her fear of flying could be explained in her Challenge Numbers. She may have a 5 Challenge. She also could have a 1 Challenge or even less than average 1s found in the letters of her name. Also, an explanation could be found in the way her date of birth adds up. If she is a 14/5, it indicates Karma and very often 14/5s do not display all the normal qualities of an average 5.
Just suggesting a perfect explanation that can be found within the numbers of her chart.

    • Alison, Great additions! Yes, there are MANY aspects in a person’s chart that can further explain these complexities. Not only the ones you mentioned, but also what personal year she is in, her Balance Number (if she is experiencing dramatic happenings at this time), personality number, inclusion of a married name, etc. The combinations in an individual’s chart are many and varied.

What I have found in my work with women is that truly effective transformation occurs when we fuse the basic knowledge of one’s ASSETS, GIFTS, TALENTS and MISSION of her numbers, with a tried-and-true model of philosophy; what we believe, becomes true for us.

Ancient metaphysics, with some kick-it-into-gear coaching, is essential to make sure we do not get caught up in and focused on the explanation, when the real juicy stuff is getting started IMMEDIATELY on the magical solution within.

In other words, we could find tons of numbers in a person’s chart to explain fear, doubt and angst – OR we can focus on the effective techniques to energize and expand a woman’s solution-center from the most powerful influence in her chart; the creative genius of her life’s mission.
